Anomalous Leaf's fifth bouquet, a 6-track EP recorded at the dawn of 2011, exudes a rather warm yet icy atmosphere reflecting on a wintertime aura of festivity but with a warily cognizant tinge of the times. While perhaps drawing out a palette of melody more brazenly than in previous works, Ice Under Fire yet retains a sense of experimentalism throughout and is presented with the typical first-take-goes approach without wearing the ice too thin.
Originally released online at Bandcamp.com in support of relief efforts following the massive earthquake that devastated Japan in March 2011.
